大家新年好！值此新年佳节之际，哥伦比亚大学中国学生学者联谊会（CUCSSA）在此诚挚地邀请您出席将于2012年1月28在哥伦比亚大学举办的“常春藤龙年春晚”暨哥伦比亚大学第十三届“海内梦，彼岸春，古今同”农历新年联欢晚会！

一年一度的“哥伦比亚大学农历新年联欢晚会”秉持发扬中华文化、传承中华文明的精神，历经十三年的发展和完善，现已成为美东地区最大的农历新年庆祝活动之一。2006年，纽约市市长Michael Bloomberg发表声明，命名2006年1月29日（农历大年初一）为“CUCSSA农历新年日”。2007年，联谊会发起组织美国常春藤联盟八校（包括哥伦比亚大学、耶鲁大学、普林斯顿大学、宾夕法尼亚大学、康奈尔大学、哈佛大学、布朗大学和达特茅斯学院）联合举办“CUCSSA农历新年晚会”，开创了常春藤联盟合办大型文艺晚会的先河。历年来，我们邀请到中美政界、商界、学界的知名人士作为嘉宾莅临晚会，其中有联合国副秘书长沙祖康先生、历届中国驻纽约大使、多位大型企业的负责人和美国常春藤大学的校方领导等。与此同时，历届晚会都得到了中国中央电视台、凤凰卫视、新华社、侨报及其他中文媒体的大力报道。

本届晚会将于2012年1月28日在哥伦比亚大学Lerner Hall演艺中心举行，届时我们将会为大纽约地区的广大华人朋友奉上一场包括声乐类、舞蹈类、语言类等节目的精彩纷呈的饕餮盛宴。

New Year’s greetings from the CUCSSA! As the Year of the Dragon is quickly approaching, it is our honor and delight to invite you the CUCSSA Chinese New Year Gala on January 28, a special occasion to rejoice and celebrate this festive season.

 

This year marks the 13th Gala of our celebration. Starting from 2000, the CUCSSA has established the Gala as one of the most celebrated rendezvous for the Chinese community in the Great New York Area. Through the years, we have had the honor to receive distinguished guests including the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, the Consul Generals of the Chinese Consulate General in New York, as well as both Chinese and American political dignitaries, notable corporate executives and renowned academics from Columbia University and other Ivy League institutions. To recognize the positive influence of the Gala and the contribution of CUCSSA towards community building, Mayor Bloomberg declared 29 January 2006 the “CUCSSA Lunar New Year Day.” The Gala has attracted media attention from such prominent Chinese-language press and TV networks as the Xinhua News Agency, the Chinese Central Television (CCTV), Phoenix TV, and the China Press.

The CUCSSA Chinese New Year Gala this year will take place on January 19, 2012, in Alfred Lerner Hall of Columbia University. With our continuing pursuit for excellence, we hope to present to you a memorable showcase of culture, art, diversity and creativity.

Time: 8:00pm (Doors will be open at 6:30pm. You are encouraged to arrive early to avoid the crowd and to enjoy the videos our crew has prepared for the new year celebration.)

1.       Only currently registered students and scholars in Columbia University are eligible to buy CUIC ticket. Each student or scholar is entitled only one CUID ticket. For CUID ticket-holders, you would need to present your ticket with your CUID upon entering the auditorium.

2.       All purchased tickets are held at the ticket office (TIC) situated on the 1^stfloor of Lerner Hall. Starting from January 17, tickets can be picked up at TIC with the purchase confirmation and a valid photo ID.
